ISP integration into domain control
Another obvious trend for cameras is the integration of ISPs into domain control .  Under the trend of centralized development in electronic and electrical architecture  ECU has shifted from distributed to centralized   and cameras have become hardware devices for collecting information    Computing and processing functions have been separated from cameras and integrated into high computing power SoCs and domain controllers

Trend 3 :  Cancel ISP
The last trend is to cancel ISP and use raw data directly (RAWDATA)   But currently    there are still relatively few methods used
The raw data of the CAR camera (RAWDATA) is directly input into the neural network without ISP processing   which not only reduces costs but also avoids the complex ISP tuning process in the development process   and improves visual perception ability

Instead of using raw data (RAWDATA) for inference without ISP processing   this data can be retained to improve perception ability in these scenes 

 

But canceling an ISP is not that easy   On the one hand, the amount of RAWDATA data is too large, and the bandwidth pressure for transmission   storage, and processing is extremely high   On the other hand   ISPs are designed to optimize display performance   in simple terms    for people to see    In data links that require human participation (such as labeling)   ISPs are still indispensable    so ISPs will continue to be retained in the short term
